shrimp,shellfish,pellets,it eats everything,. but these fish dont live in freshwater long and will quiqly die if they stays in freshwater for long,. if you cant provide true tropical sea water you should not keep it,. best thing to do then is go back to the store wih it and get a freeshwater eel in stead
