@CRUClO my family come from an area that was heavily populated by the norse invaders, the north of scotland and ireland. i think that you will find that the anglo-saxons, jutes and normans came in through the back door, via the channel, in actual fact harold was a promissary king just as william of normandy was, edward promissed the kingdom to both of them, harold being the earlier promise. dont teach me history son. oh! where did your other one percent come from? it makes a difference.

@MrJimmyboy1972 I have had a DNA test at Nottingham university, as part of a study they were doing on the genealogy of the British isles. And mine came back 99% (about as close a match as you can get) the same as someone who you would expect to find in Germanic Northern mainland Europe. i.e Anglo Saxon. My family come from an area that was heavily populated by the Anglo Saxons. i.e Newcastle

BTW the Normans were of Viking stock. similar to Anglo Saxon/Jute invaders of Britain

@CRUClO anglo saxon! how do you know that you dont have, scots, welsh, irish, norman, and all ports south blood in you. i have an english son in law, i love him like my own son, and all his relatives. i can trace my fathers blood line back to 1799, and i am still researching. my mother came from irish stock, thats more difficult, but i will get there. i would love to see the results of a dna test on you. your as near to anglo saxon as scotland is to winning the world cup....Haaa! i am no bigot.

@MrJimmyboy1972 How does Scotland support England? Please dont say North sea oil. That only brings in about seven billion a year. Scotland gets that back through free health care and education. The yearly income of the UK is about three trillion with most of that being generated in England.

I have no Scottish blood in me, I am Anglo Saxon. A completely different people from you. You people are all English hating bigots. why would I want to be around such people?

@CRUClO i knew it was a wee backward country that scotland supports. you probably have scots blood in you, through your ancestors. as long as your family are truly english, and have lived between the border with scotland and derby. (1745 jacobite rebellion, the scots army fought their way down as far as derby) before that wallace took his army and sacked york. come up and see your long lost cousins. oh! my son in law is from stockton on tees, and he loves it up here
