@WBDE The mesh attached to the barriers is supposed to be a deterrent to prevent people from simply ducking under the barriers when they are lowered.

@UKTrainMan I drive EMU's in Melbourne for far too many years. The s### for brains idiots would rather dangle their legs off the platforms than sit on the seats. I just stopped noticing them but enjoyed the reactions when they failed to notice me until it was almost too late. 35 years driving on both EMU and locos without a hit makes me a rare individual in the rail industry.

Why is the white mesh used on level crossing gates in England rather than simply the red bar alone?

the foot crossing-very sobering thought that frm red light to passing train the time lapse is only short of 40 seconds.
Sorry its about as boring as watching paint dry on a cold day.Why would you bother?

@grumblebum42 Why did you? Much as you are entitled to your opinion there was no need to post the comment! Fool

Fantastic video of some fantastic locations. Tallington is a VERY good location. Regarding the 3 girls at Sileby did you not step in and tell them not to do that? I would have had no problems doing so or even phone BTP on their Freephone number 0800 40 50 40? Perhaps you should make a copy of the video for the attention of BTP to see it or show the TOC, etc as it's quite a serious offence.
Still, a great video from some truly fantastic locations. :)

Thanks for you comments. With regard to the 3 girls at Sileby, I could have stepped in but it would have made no difference, they knew what they were doing! BTP are welcome to the video, but I very much doubt they will have any interest. The still photo was published in RAIL recentley in the Stop & Examine column.
