The Sound: Sydney LiveConcert 3.Dec.1981 remastered from me. The videopictures are from a TV-Show. I have both edited in a video/audioeditor and here is the result. I think the video is this time not 100% perfect (synchronicity), maybe i can overwork this in the future.Hm...you know the thirty frames a second version on the silver box? you found it on cd1..i say it in neat words: ''not really a burner'' ..Can anyone tell me the reason for the bad and noisy sound from cd1 on the silver box? :p Ok, here i am for the forthcoming platinum box ;-). Please take a look on my nearly perfect synchron video ''Simple Minds-Colours Fly And Catherine Wheel LIVE 1982 (Dexbam-Special) Remastered'' I think THE SOUND is in both videos great !? :p One day my ears are bleeding...deaf ;o Joking apart....
The sound source for this (from me) remastered 30frames version was a unreleased tape record from a australian radio broadcast, the sound was ok (3+), but far not brilliant !
video-resource are 3 different tv-tracks from a old scottish tv broadcast.
(Most scenes logical from ''thirty frames'')
Please take also a look to the highly rare scottish-tv-broadcast-videos from user ''fery2''

  • Thought I was one of very few listening to the oldest Simple Minds tracks like this one, "Factory" and others. Good to know I am not alone.

The hypnotic bassline on this one is f***ing amazing.

Brilliant vid and sound by the way. Cheers.

  • Don't know how you do it D.....great!!!!!

  • Your so gifted Dex!!! TYSSVM

  • Forbes is a master of hypnotic Bass lines... didn't you know? Ha Ha Ha!

  • stunning... !! great sound and video... those keys are so insane! luve it

  • sounds fantastic--well done!!

  • @Rockettez

The older the songs from bands the better. When artists are young they have ideas ideas etc. After the money comes and the ideas goes its all crap everywhere :)

  • bel lavoro!

  • terrible job on the mastering of the keys ! They sound way too sharp and harsh !

You made it sound like a modern digital synth producing acid, which is really a shame.

Long live the analogue richness instead of the squealing softsynths in modern pop-trash.

  • hard as nails! they were an outstanding band back then

  • This isn't from Sydney Dex. It's from the Arhhem concert, February 26th 1982 just a few months after the Sydney one. The Sydney one has a different sounding Bass and starts with Jim saying "One man, going backward at thirty frames a second" before the song starts.

    Hope that helps :-)
