Debra Paul has been with the Boston Public Health Commission for 24 years and is currently the Principal Administrative Assistant in the Executive Office. In her time at the Boston Public Health Commission, Debra has demonstrated dedication, commitment, and drive as a true public health leader. One of the best illustrations of this is how Debra has led the Commission through incredible transitions in leadership and staffing. Through her cool, calm, and collected demeanor she has offered clear guidance, sound advice, and upheld the complex work, mission and integrity of the Commission. No matter how big or how small the task, request, or favor Debra always lends her support. In this way, Debra is an invaluable liaison between programs, external partners, and the executive office. Although her duties are administrative in nature, her passion for the public health work that the Commission delivers is unparalleled. She makes a particular point to attend many of the client events and graduations, particularly the Health Crew graduation which she takes special pride in. Every year she gets up to address the young men who have just graduated to tell them how proud she is of them and to encourage them to continue on the successful path they have begun.
