The Young Persons Advisory Service (YPAS) has been working with children and young people in Liverpool since 1966.
The drop-in is a unique service in the city. It offers a safe comfortable space for young people aged 16 to 25. Young people can drop in for an informal chat or to participate in informal education sessions.
We aim to ensure that our drop-in is a safe, warm and friendly place where young people can come to meet and make friends, have a tea or coffee, chat and relax.
There will always be a member of staff available to meet and assist you.
We have a variety of workshops and surgeries in the drop-in:
Monday: massage, relaxation day
Tuesday: cooking on a budget / healthy eating
Wednesday: Connexions surgery 1 - 4pm: advice on employment, education, training.
Thursday: Citizens Advice surgery 2 - 5pm: free, independent, impartial, confidential advice on any issue, including: debt, benefits, housing, immigration, consumer issues and much more.
YPAS offers advice on a wide variety of issues including welfare rights, housing, drug and substance use, health issues and more.
Advice If we cannot help you, we can hopefully refer you to another agency who can give you more specific advice. If we need to liaise with outside agencies on your behalf your permission with always be requested.
You can make an appointment with one of our staff by calling in or giving us a ring. Sometimes you may be able to access advice by telephoning or calling in to the drop-in, if appropriate staff members are available.
Support
We all need support through difficult times in our lives YPAS aims to provide a non-judgmental environment which could make all the difference.
We provide informal support within the drop-in, and in some cases we can offer more formal support such as advocacy work.
