Sound wise I think they are quite close....with the Larrivee sounding a bit more refines and rich. But remember there are other HUGE differences between these guitars....the T-170 is short scale with a big thick V-neck. the Larrivee is Long Scale with a shallow C-shaped neck...they feel very different to play...I own an OM-05MT and a T-170...love them both as they are quite different. I dearly love my Larrivee....but The T-170 is really a tremendous bargain if you get a good one.

Larivee sounds much better

i think the silver creek sounds alot better is that the first one?

You didn't seem to play as well on the silver creek. looked like you hardy tried. but good comparison. Larivee noses it out for the win.

I like the Silver Creek better!

the silver creek sounds thin and twangy... Larrivee kills it big time..:)

remember, one has an ebony board, and one a rosewood. The difference is so small, but there. Given a pro fret level on the silver creek, it would be hard to "feel" a difference. I have a d-03 larrivee and am seriously looking into a t-170 silver creek.

The Larivee sounds so much more dynamic. Great sounding guitar. Very balanced and has a unique character not present in the other. The Silver Creek sound frankly bland.
Larivee all the way!
