    Thanks. Absolutely right. Also, if he's really unlucky at the malpractice suit, her lawyer can have him brought up on criminal charges of patient abuse (Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy), which he won't be able to beat if they pull up mental ward records, which could put him in jail.

    Excellent point. So true. I thought the film was interesting but ruined by the silly developments near the end. The need for a superficially clever twist ends up making JL's character the hero, which is clearly inappropriate, and undermines the points the film had been making about the pharmaceutical industry.

    I love how any film depicting a woman or gay couple as villains, or as immoral characters is "homophobic" or "misogynistic". It's really sad that to be politically correct you have to always assume that the characters in a film are a statement on anyone with the same gender or sexual preference...

    I'm not a lawyer, but I'm damn skippy that any malpractice judge in the world would end the malpractice suit by ripping up the psychiatrist's practitioner's license, and charging him massive damages. In real life, he'd be screwed for keeps.
