@manywiresloose oh makes more sense, 110 feet is damn high, my gym goes up to about 50 feet. And thanks for the info, I mostly struggle with grip endurance, but i feel stronger every time i climb. And Sharma is a freak of a man, it only surprises me a little haha :)

@sarvelaj it varies widely among people, but at this particular gym, 6 months is about right. Likely, it's a function of the 110' routes which require stamina and technique. Seems most spend the first couple of months just learning basics and building strength, but if you're already fit and naturally gifted at climbing, it's certainly possible to climb 5.10 on your first try. Chris Sharma climbed 5.10b on his first trip to an indoor rock climbing gym.
A route is graded by its hardest move.

@manywiresloose does it normally take 6 months for a new climber to send a 5.10? serious question. I've been at it for almost a month and my best is 5.9+ and i can get to the last hold (which requires a bit of a dyno to reach) of a 5.10a, I've only tried it like 4 times. Maybe the route fits my style well?

@manywiresloose didnt messed around with that setting left mine in default

@roninsoul Yes, it's definitely more of an outdoor camera, but to be fair, those old grain silos at that gym are really dark since the only light source is 120 feet up. I had the AWB set on center weighted and depending on the lighting you might get better results using spot metering.

to bad for the poor light , looses a lot of quality i just tested that out in mine
but still i just love the interactive climbing , no many things can be made and will be made with this little camera from now on , the most unsual video will come up
@manywireslose haha if I get up it I'll consider it 5.9. Never actually gotten up a 5.10. Where I climb a 5.10 is a 5.10 all the way up. I can never get far up one at all but I can flash most 5.9s. Even a 5.10- how tall is this climb btw?

@riedstep That one is about 100'...if you're flashing 9's, it won't be very long until you're doing the same to 10's. Good luck and climb safely.

Looked like a 5.8 or 9. I know going up high requires a lot of stamina. Reminds me of the silos I climbed in at the gym in Oklahoma city. If ur ever there check it out(:

@riedstep The two crux moves...and the stamina are the only things making it a 5.10a...take those out and I bet it is only a 5.9. Thanks for the suggestion...if I'm ever with downtime in OKC, I'll give the place a shot. If you're in Dallas, the route number is 35 and is still set the same way as when I climbed it a year ago. Once you send it, let me know if you still think it's a 5.9 ;)
