expulsion of both Serbs and Montenegrins. Already during the war years the future

status of Kosovo had become an important problem confronting the Yugoslav and

Albanian partisans who both had claims on this province. After World War II,

Kosovo and Macedonia were incorporated into socialist Yugoslavia. The Albanianinhabited

regions were divided between different administrative units.
