Joseph Smith's Prayer

I wrote this song in March of 2007. It is my testimony of Joseph Smith, the Prophet, and the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints-- in the form of a song. Enjoy!

well, i have researched this mormon belief system.. and i have found that its pretty difficult to believe to tell you the truth. i am not really sure how you can believe that.. maybe you could tell me what convinced you that this was the truth.. how do you know that joseph smith's testimony is credible..help me out..

One day, when I was watching a video about Joseph Smith and the Restoration, I just felt an overwhelming feeling that it really did happen; Joseph Smith did see God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, in a vision, and he did restore the fullness of the gospel to the earth. But I asked myself, "What if it's not true?"...

And then I remembered the countless times my prayers have been answered, the wonderful feelings I get when I read the Book of Mormon, and the constant and powerful moments when something inside of me tells me that Joseph Smith was a prophet. With everything I've experienced in my life, there's just no way the church is false. I wish I could explain it better, but when the Holy Ghost testified to me that the church is true (on more than one occasion), there was no more room to doubt.

that may seem very real to you, but as somebody on the outside that really only appears like a few spiritual feelings.. you havent presented me with any proof or theological evidence or even a good reason to believe joseph smith.. feelings come and go, but i am in the search of truth -- can you give me something thats real?

There are missionaries (probably in your area) that can teach you a lot better than I can, and I would suggest you talk to them. I wish I could somehow give you proof or hard theological evidence, but I can't. I know what I know, and even though I can't explain it very well, no one can tell me that what I've experienced isn't real.

I'm currently a 'dry' LDS and set to be baptized in a month. I am so thankful to our Heavenly Father for restoring the Gospel through the Prophet Joseph Smith.

I think the only way that you can possibly know for yourself if this is true, is to read the Book of Mormon. Read it all the way through. If you have any questions, don't turn to the internet. I mean, some places are good sources to turn if you have questions, but in general, you aren't going to find the correct answers from online. You'll have to talk to the missionaries or a member more personally. CONTINUED

@johndukster If you researched the Mormon belief system you would know to read the Book of Mormon and then pray if the Book is true and then watch what will happen in your life as you read this Book. It is true and Joseph Smith was a Prophet. Please read the book and I promise you it will change your life!
