Track by The Groove Addicts 'Beast At Our Door', also featured in the upcoming movie 'The Wolfman'.
Finally the politics of boxing has been put aside for awhile and we can have a fight. Not the fight the public really wanted but a fight nevertheless. A lot of people will be satisfied starting with Jerry Jones who finally gets his wish to host a mega fight in the Dallas Cowboys stadium. The public will see another Pacquiao fight in what will probably be a lead up to Mayweather later in the year. It all seems to be working out but dont forget Mike Tyson Buster Douglas and what happened there. A well known slugger and unbeatable fighter in his own mind and the minds of the public falls to a determined warrior who had a fighters chance.
Oscar DelaHoya undoubtedly one of the best boxers of our time was drained and probably at the end of his career when facing Pacquiao in what was more an accommodation fight and probably should not have been taken. The catch weight agreement only in Pacquiaos favor and from round one DelaHoya looked drawn and over matched. Ricky Hatton came to fight and was not challenged by weight but had a style of reckless rushing in to face his opponents. Previously knocked out by Floyd Mayweather he was facing g a mental challenge as well as a skills challenge. Miguel Cotto should be labeled the dancing master because he seemed unwilling to mix it up and if necessary go out on his sword. He was bigger and physically stronger if not a harder puncher. The skills of grabbing holding and mauling his opponent went out the window and suddenly he turned to a boxing style which essentially doomed him to defeat. Cotto had lost to Antonio Margarito in a terrible beating in what had now come under suspicion because of Margaritos hardened hand wraps. To win a fighter was needed until victory or defeat. Better he went out in a slugfest than a loss while retreating.
Joshua Clottey has two questionable defeats on his record both by decision. His loss to Antonio Margarito is questionable as all of Margaritos bouts before Shane Moseley would be because of his hand wraps. Miguel Cotto many feel lost the fight to Clottey but as usual decisions in boxing often are controversial and based on the politics of the game. Whatever makes money makes sense. So we have a fighter that is willing to fight regardless of whether Pacquiao is on steroids or beetle juice. He is getting a another shot at a crown and having essentially probably won at least one of the past two shots is an angry man with something to prove. If Pacquiao wanders through training with Freddie Roach and is more concerned about upcoming elections in the Philippines or decides that his in and out movement is enough to waylay the long shot in front of him then he should be careful. If the idea of singing engagements after the fight and taking the entourage on the town sounds like a good idea while training then he may be surprised. Remember Mike Tyson Vs Buster Douglas and give Clottey a fighters chance.
The undercard includes Humberto Soto vs David Diaz, Alfonso Gomez vs Jose Luis Castillo, John Duddy vs Micheal Medina. Also Salvador Sanchez III, and George Foreman II in seperate bouts.
