Fatties took down my song.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(Kevin's POV)
My palms were sweating, there were butterflies in my stomach, and my heart was going to jump out of my chest. I looked around at all the guests and they were all smiling and catching up with each other. Everyone was at ease but me. I took a glance at my groomsmen and saw Joe smiling at me. He gave me a thumbs-up and I nodded.
The priest told everyone to sit down and that's when I felt like throwing up. It's usually a girl that does that before a wedding but I was seriously feeling sick. I had to get through this. Do you know how embarrassing it would be if I threw up in the middle of my own wedding? Yeah, really.
I had no time left to think because the doors opened. I looked up to see the most beautiful woman walking down the aisle towards me. Her arm was linked with her fathers and he was smiling at me. But I quickly looked back at my beautiful fiancée. Her dress was gorgeous and everything about her took all the worry away.
I could not believe that a girl that amazing would want me. I didn't deserve her but here we were, getting married. She finally reached the altar and her dad passed her over to me. I grabbed her hands and the priest started the speech. I was trying to pay attention but I couldn't keep my eyes off of Rebecca. I also noticed that she had found the necklace I gave her and was wearing it around her neck. So breathtaking.
I smiled at her and she smiled back, making my heart drum three times faster. I was so caught up in the moment that I hardly noticed when the priest started talking about the vows. We had each come up with our own. Rebecca went first.
"I still remember the day that I first met you. It was kind of embarrassing but at least we met. I was so happy when you asked me to be your girlfriend and even more when you said that you loved me. You have been there through everything, even when I lost my memory of you."
I smiled, reminiscing that time. "And even when you left, I never stopped thinking about you. I would imagine the day when you came back and even when I was engaged to someone else and standing at the altar, hearing you dispel your feelings, I knew I loved you more than anything. I can't wait to spend forever with you."
She was slightly crying and I quickly brushed a tear away. "Now you, Mr. Jonas."
"Rebecca, ever since I saw you, I knew you were something special so I chased after you. I had to get through a lot to be here with you today. I had some competition, some hostage situations, and even the objection of a relative but we got through it. We always have. I know I was such an idiot for leaving the most amazing girl because of a stupid fight and I wish I could change that. I still can't believe that I found someone as forgiving as you. You left your own wedding for us to be together."
The tears on Rebecca's face were of joy. I could tell. She was smiling and reacting to everything I said. "I refused a job for you. I would never ever change that. No job or anything material could compare to having the one I love by my side. I love you and we will be together forever. Whatever life brings us... we will prevail."
I squeezed Rebecca's hands and she returned it. She smiled and wiped the tears away. The priest came in. "Now, the rings."
My little brother Frankie came up and handed us the rings. "Do you, Paul Kevin Jonas II, take Rebecca Anne Turner to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do you part?"
"I do," I said, slipping the ring onto her finger.
"And do you, Rebecca Anne Turner, take Paul Kevin Jonas II to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do you part?"
"I do," she replied, slowly and lovingly replacing my purity ring with my wedding band.
"By the power vested in me by the state of California, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."
I leaned forward and as our lips met, everybody erupted in cheers and applause. This was probably the best moment of my life. Knowing that the woman I loved was finally mine and that I was hers. Nothing could separate us now. We pulled away and walked up the aisle together, waving at everyone as we passed.
We got into the limo and headed off towards the reception. In the car, I took Rebecca's hand and kissed it. "I love you so much. I'm so happy you said yes to me."
"How could I ever say no? You are the only one for me."
