After the New York Senate rejected the marriage equality bill, Astoria marriage equality supporter Jeremiah Frei-Pearson gave a speech to a protest crowd in Union Square. Western Queens' Senator George Onorato voted against the marriage equality bill. Jeremiah also speaks about several calls for him to run for Senator against Senator Onorato.
I was one of the individuals who attended the rally in Union Square. My partner of almost 14 years and myself had the pleasure of talking to Mr. Pearson and believe that he would be an ideal candidate to replace George Onorato of Queens. To this end my partner and I will help as much as we can. He has what it takes to bring progress. Its time for equality for all!
