  • Great video. Just what I needed to start getting familiar before installing.

  • Thanks man. And to think I did this video 1 year ago and it's been viewed over 45K times.

  • a play a game called runescape i have the exzact same ubuntu it downloads java but i try to play it says i still need to download i dont know what to do

  • This happens with Flash sometimes as well, even if you've done a manual install. I'll have to play with it today and see what I get.

Hopefully stuff like this gets fixed in the future. These are the minor frustrations that keep Ubuntu and other flavors of Linux behind Windows.

  • some say that ubuntu has a large foot print and is extremely bloated

  • Yes, you can make it bloated and compared to years ago it's getting bigger. A person can also make it bloatier by installing a bunch of stuff that's always running.

That said, if I had a choice to run Windows or Ubuntu, I would run Ubuntu because of all the maintenance/security headaches with Windows and bloatiness of Windows.

However, since I'm a tech-kind of person, I like to run them all-Windows-whatever version starting at XP, Mac, and the Various flavors of Linux including Ubuntu, etc.
