@DG320 it's not true, it is "half" true. Old soccer was very much violent too(here in brasil a couple of defenders tried break the rival player, Pele and Garrincha was hunted), don't had fair rules(no cards yellow or red ). The field, the ball, the clothes, the food and the trainning was worse than today. Today is much more easy be a soccer play than in Pele epoch. But Pele won 3 world cups, did more than 1200 goals, won many prizes in santos.Pele how M.jordan was genetically ahead us.

at the moment ronaldo of 2002-04 is the best in the 21th century eventhough he lacked pace because of his knee injury but still had like 80% overall performance rate compared to his pre-injury era and definitely the best in the late 20th century (the 90's).

I've never seen a full match played by maradonna, pele and cruyf so i cannot judge who is the best in the history but i definitely now that in the 21th century the best player in this era is without doubt Ronaldo not even Messi is close to him.
