Pac Man Championship Edition DX (X360) - 200/200 achievements in under 25 minutes

Well this is an idea that I had a while ago, and after recording my other Pac Man CE:DX video I decided to give this some tries too. This is far from perfect but it did take me a lot of tries.

The objective was to earn all the game's achievements in as little time as possible, so I guess you could call it a 100% achievements speedrun or a 200/200 all achievements speedrun.

A 100% trophies run for the PS3 version would take much much longer, since you'd have to play on a lot more than just one map.

Sorry I cut off the top and the bottom of the screen for the Xbox 360 dashboard portion at the start. I did that when processing the video to optimize the aspect ratio for the gameplay later. (I still use a SDTV.)

The title screen came up at 0:34 in the video, and the final batch of achievements popped in at 24:21, so if that's the timing you want to use then I estimate my total time to be 23:47. I don't think that is the exact timing SDA would use though (www.speeddemosarchive.com).

The achievements I earned are -

8:27 - Time Trial Cleared - 15 points

13:53 -
30 Ghost Combo - 10 points
Score Attack (5 Minutes) (just means I finished it) - 10 points
No Mistakes (finish 5 minute score attack with no deaths) - 15 points
No Bombs (finish 5 minute score attack without using any bombs) - 15 points
All Maze Visuals - 15 points
500,000 Points (in 5 minute score attack) - 20 points
1,000,000 Points (in 5 minute score attack) - 30 points

24:21 -
Sparkster (emit sparks for 1 second) - 5 points
Score Attack (10 Minutes) (just means I finished it) - 15 points
1,500,000 Points (10 minute score attack) - 20 points
2,000,000 Points (10 minute score attack) - 30 points


I tried to earn 8 achievements at the same time at the end of the 5-minute stage, but I failed to do that because I didn't spark enough during the stage. Oh well, 7 achievements for 115 points all at once is fairly cool even though I failed to get 8 :)

Like I said this took me quite a few tries (and it's far from perfect). The hardest parts are getting all the 5-minute stage achievements in one go (requires 1,000,000 points, no bombs and no deaths all in one visit), and pulling off a decent full time trial. Also, a really good time at this would require speedy use of the game's menus, but I am not very good at that.

The time trials went okay but weren't that great. I tried to make it a bit more entertaining by attempting a long ghost combo in the five-minute stage (I was somewhat successful but I botched it) and by attempting a high score in the ten-minute stage (again I was somewhat successful). Oh, and I came very close to a death in the five-minute stage which would have ruined my run. I did die 2-3 times in the ten-minute stage.
