I love WWII fleet boats, hope that they won't fall in disuse and some of these subs will get restored. Great job!
-
do you plan on making this 60 year old sub sea worthy again? i ask this because your restoring her engines to working order
-
Sounds like an EMD locomotive at idle
-
Plenty of white smoke there, was the engine cold when this engine was running?
-
Great Video. I've been on that boat several times. Love to see it sail again.
is there a fund we can donate to?
-
@xxamadeus84xx Stories like that are a dime a dozen about anything. And I agree with PaulFarace.
-
Want a few EN's to help you with that? I'd love to!

So cool to see a team of dedicated people restore these old engines
Cold? How about 38 years cold! I've seen films and photos of fleetboats starting up (cold) that made about as much smoke. And yes, when it's had a few minutes to warm up, it thinned out considerably. Thanks for watching this video!

I've read in a book called cleveland's ghosts that the USS COD is haunted and that men commited suicide... It would be an excellent idea to make a ghost tour 0_o

Bullcrap! Nobody committed suicide aboard the boat and there are no ghosts. We love and respect our boat, and to market this proud boat in such a way is to do a disservice to the men of the Silent Service. You will find a COD tour interesting without the spooks!

The water cooling jacket is being worked on and will be fixed shortly... then we can run the No. 4 until the diesel fuel bill arrives in the mail! :o)
