YES, IT'S FAN-MADE. This is a small tribute to one of my favourite comic book artists Norm Breyfogle and writer Alan Grant, this is the first few pages of Detective Comics #601 [1989].
This was the year that I started collecting Batman comics, and I realised that superheroes were not just for kids.
Breyfogle's art absolutely captivated my 13 year old mind, and every time I'd visit the city, I'd get (Kick-Ass-style) fantasies of stalking rooftops and takin' out muggers. And while these pan n' scans look a bit dated now, they still look so cool to the kid in me. I have since gotten rid of most of my comics, and downloaded the CBRs onto a harddrive. They're harder to read, sure, but I can read them anytime I like, and if I move house... much easier.

I started this project months ago, and have been putting it off.
The voices were easy to record, and the track from Two Steps From Hell just jumped out at me. It's called 'Battle Of Dark vs Light' and it's Star Warsey type music, but works as a Danny Elfman-esque car chase track.
Then, the sound effects were from stock mp3s I had, but the Ferrari engine noises I just ripped from various YouTube home videos!
To find out the rest of the story, you'll have to find the comic at your comic shop!

  • did u do the voice overs urself...check out my motion fan made comics when you get the chance

  • @mrsycho00 - Yeah, thanks. Will do.

  • This is tremendous work. If you could do this with "The Long Halloween" or "Batman: Year One" It would be EPIC. Great work on the voice, Kevin Conroy meets Clint Eastwood.

  • @WhiplashDynamo - Thanks, WD. Man, this was only five pages, LOL, imagine doing inch-thick The Long Halloween! That's a lot of pumpkin!

    Thanks again!

  • dude! this is actually the first batman comic book i ever bought! no joke! dang...the memories... i love the batmoblie model on this one. wish they use this version in the dark knight rises.

    awesome job btw! :)

  • I loved Norm Breyfogle too. I remember when I had a subscription to Detective Comics.

  • @MattHelmMartin - Thanks. Well, that would be cool, but I think his people would be more interested in the copyright infringement issue than any kind of praise.

But I'd be thrilled to know if he ever saw this...hehe. I love his art.

  • Awesome!

Did you show your work to Norm Breyfogle?

  • that great excellent job flawless

  • Better than the actual motion comics that I've seen!

  • Excellent work on this! I read it a long time ago, brought a smile to my face seeing the Ferarri taking on the Batmobile again. Great voice too, well acted.
