This is a traditional song sung by a singer of traditional songs. The cultural context is central . A classically trained singer will approach this song in a very different way. One may like one or the other or both. But a direct comparison is nonsense.

Barbara can sing virtualy anything,

I realy regret loaning someone a beautiful cd ( A parcel of Rogues ) never to be returned and sadly no longer available.

While in Edinburgh I tried hard to find what I wanted, I asked an assistant in a music store to help me....re Barbara Dickson.....Who ? she said !......Boy was I angry ! lol.....but Barbara has outlasted all the POP Bimbo's and will continue to do so.

AND........She is a realy nice Lady !

Again, I understand different types of singers approach the song in a different way. This does not mean they cannot be compared, of course. I dont blame her for not singing it in a classical way.

Even if i don't compare this to any other version however, the singing lacks technique and expression. It is really bad, in fact.

Of course she has expression and technique you moron! She is a Scottish professional singer with roots in celtic traditional music. She is not trying to do the same thing as someone like Deller. Your comparison is nonsense.
