This was recorded on August 26, 2010 around Midnight in Cohasset, Massachusetts using a Flip Video camcorder. It went on for about and hour with 10-15 minute intervals between the sets of cries. It does not sound exactly like a Fisher Cat or Fox, but that is the closest thing I could come up with. It sounded more human than anything else, but the way it was moving (tracking by the sound), no human could have done that. It is much, much louder than you might think by the video. It is louder than any bird, and seems too loud to be a Fox or Fisher. I first heard it over the noise of the TV and with the windows closed. It's damn loud. Have never heard anything like this before, but this summer at the farm nearby (100 yards away and within the vicinity of the sound) several chickens were lost (killed) by something crafty and seemingly new to the area. Would appreciate any informed identification of this sound and its creator.
