  • I was in fourth grade...some time in 94' and having just become enchanted with The Beatles, received Magical Mystery Tour as a gift. I took it home, and it took me down the rabbit hole. How could I go back to music class and sing Camptown Races when I had heard about the Walrus? Hearing this extended cut is phenomenal...the wonder, harmony, and mystery of childhood lies within these sounds...

  • Poor guys, going back to write pop songs after this

  • Thanks for the link, haven't heard this version before. THANKSTHANKSTHANKS

  • @CoyotePoet Lennon played the mellotron.

  • considering the limited length of the LP at the time this was recorded, the only logical call was to fade it out...if it wasn't for the fact that it's the Beatles it would have been trashed by now. Who is playing the...mellotron?

  • @ledcorsar0 Yeah, technically. In all fairness to the Floyd, the songs themselves date quite before the actual production and execution of the album,so... whatever,I guess.

  • @RDV333 Sure. However the Beatles went before. Revolver in 1966 already had something pretty psichedelic ;) I just noticed how these two great bands can sometimes sound similar

  • Exciting!

  • @ledcorsar0 Wrong: piper at the gates of dawn, the true beast of psycadelia as a whole, had already been released.

  • It never mattered what drugs they were on or where their minds were....they were still the best even when goofing off with no direction
