@bagq06 East Coast USA has a time difference of 5 Hours to GMT (Greenwich Mean Time/Zulu time/UTC) If you take off at 12:00 UTC/GMT, and flight time for concorde is 3 hours 30 minute (approx, has been done in under 3 Hours) you arrive at 15:30 GMT. In East Coast USA time, that is 10:30. One and a half hours before takeoff.

A big problem was the release of nitrous oxides into the stratosphere. These harm the ozone layer - which is still in danger.
But concorde was and is a technological milestone many years ahead of its time. At mach 2.0 - concorde's olympus engines are incredibly efficient. Only 15% of thrust is from fuel burn - 67% is free energy from the ramps and compression within the engine.

@flexwheelR Not really. As Concorde flies at mach 2, she´s able to make London-New York in under 3 and half hours. Last time I was taking that route on 777, it took us almost 12 hours. Since it is 5 hour time zone difference between NY and London, when Concorde take off in London at 12 o´clock, it will be in NY at 10 o´clock.
