This was at the end of March 2007 at our local annual garden & flower show. With the kind permission of a breeder from Unadilla, New York (I have to dig up his name again) who was displaying them, I was able to handle three very beautiful, willing and curious koi. The yellow cream doitsu was the boldest.

  • Do they like being pet or are they just curious and don't mind? I know someone who had them, but they were eaten by racoons. The Koi I mean. XD

  • how can you say no to their cute little eyes? :) just one koi? lol

  • i've been buying kois for a yr .. i just dunno why they die , i followed every step form the manual and also ask breeders .. :(

  • @shinocicada They're like dogs of water. I was told that they recognize their owners and you can train them. I'm sure if you spend enough time with the creature, you will connect, it's not impossible just because it is a fish, I believe that they are quite intelligent. They're very symbolic you wonder why so many people want them :)

  • oh so precious & beautiful creatures .

  • @tjrouge ten gallons is wayyy to small for a koi or do you plan to release it to a pond when it gets bigger?

  • the one with long fins in the begining of the video is my faverite, i very well may get a tattoo of that one

  • wow its like soooo pretty i luv it i may not have a koi but i no alot about them now and i really want on ass soon as my ten gallon is epty with no fish i am goin to put a koi in it :D

  • Ow, how cute. You even managed to touch them.

  • They do have teeth its just that they are behind their gills they grind the food they suck in with molars basically and Koi that size have the same sized teeth as us pretty much..
