707 Greyhound Injuries Reported at Wheeling Island Racetrack (Jan. 2008 - Sep. 2009)

According to state records, 707 greyhound injuries were reported at Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack between January 2008 and September 2009. More than one hundred (100) of these involved broken legs, and other reported injuries included dislocations, broken ankles, lacerations, fractured skulls and spinal injuries. Additionally, 62 dogs died or were euthanized during this period.

Since the initial release of this injury data, GREY2K USA has obtained video footage of some of the greyhound injuries that were documented by the state.

Please note that the following injuries were catastrophic and the footage may be disturbing to some viewers.
