  • If you're gonna chain your steer axle you should chain the passenger side. That way if it breaks it won't tear up as much like your steering box/shaft.

  • @vectorvistar A lot oif time we have chained up BOTH steer tires But I have allways dont the drivers side as to keep that extra traction on the crown of the road.. If the passenegr tire slips off the road you are done, the drivers side I try to keep in the top of the roads crown and more than once had I done the other side I wouod have been in the tulips.. but its all a matter of choice

  • how much snow and ice must you have before you put them on and how soon would you take them off when you get on the tarmac (asphelt)?.

  • @gylanunderhill It all depends on where you are going?/ (steep hills etc) the time of year (winbter or raining =slick) also sometiomes the customer wants us to chain up at a certain point for safety reason.. as you can see from my other vids some places we go are pretty extreme

  • That's as chained up as you can be I guess, you definitely are a pro. I added your video on my tutorial page of my channel

  • @bigdaddytom1973 Trygg chainbs are the makers.. You may have to special order them.. but just about every one running off road in the oil patch uses them

  • lol so im sry im on my gf account . but im luckey if there isent a day that i dont have to chain up . big bed chains are 98 lbs not full of mud or ice lol .

  • @Royalhighlander everyone is a critic. Ive chained up a few times but Im sure you`ve forgotten more than I have ever learned. Great post didnt know about this one. Yup this is real-deal Alberta oilpatch hauling right here! LOL

  • I drove for Sanjel for a bit so I am familiar with the mud chaining. we did it a bit logging out of a farmers feild wish I had a video of that. we had a skidder on the front pulling (front of the truck in the air) and a 966 loader pushing.

again all I can say is you can have the mud. good video.

  • Well sometimes to get into newer leases with that wet clay ( after a good rain)you need all the chains on to get in, and yes I prefer winter chaining no mud running down your neck while unchaining.. At some rigs the engineer specifies that we are to chain up at a certain mile maker/location for saftey reasons steep hills etc..Ill try to get a video of nme throwing on a set of trips some time soon
