arroud the same time,canada went to play a game agains the red army in cccp in moscow,canada did have not the same treatement as the red army had with flyers,but fuck,all the refs where sold out to the cccp and the orgnization of the soviet union treat canadian players like shit,so to me as a canadian,the flyers game agains the red army was kind of a sweet revenge hehe its juste look like usa had saying to them,"you dont fuck with our litle brothers" hehe

@TheRydaddyops910 Snider is a lair, a baby of the cold war. Russians walked away cause the referees played for the Canadian teem whole game, it wasn't just about the last hit. And Snider wasn't the one who decided how the teems were get paid. Canadians were loosing game after game to the Soviet team, it was bad for NHL, bad for business, bad for media. Only "right" referees could stop it. BTW, that "walk away" maneuver was a good move, next games were run by honest referees.

@LT9856 Philly agreed prior to the game to play by international rules, which forbids the hit laid on Kharlamov. Philly, the NHL and the refs purposely didn't call the penalty, because they knew it would stun the Russians, who weren't used to, or expecting Philly style hockey. Instead, they called a penalty against the Red Army for delay of game. It was cheap, it was political and if the NHL hadn't threatened to take back all the,money for all the games they had already played. Set up.

I remember this like it were yesterday. The Russians came over to play exhibitions against NHL teams and pretty much dominated. That was until the Flyers played their brand of hockey. The Red Army didn't know what hit them. It was the only time Ranger fans cheered on Philly!
