Lyrics: To Spacke's great song, John you've gone to far this time
Everything you asked of me, I did, John
From holding hands to living in a sunlit submarine
And you were something special when you...
Lyrics: To Spacke's great song, John you've gone to far this time
Everything you asked of me, I did, John From holding hands to living in a sunlit submarine And you were something special when you said, John, That you had more disciples than the man who was too green
John, I love you But you went too Far This time
John, I love you But you went too The man with the foolish grin Is you
I recall you turned me on with Pepper The tour we took with Lucy was a trip I won't forget And John, I loved you when we both wore flowers But putting down your guru brought confusion and regret
John, I love you But you went too Far This time
Now I gaze in awe before that picture My mind retires to the place it was before you came I love the things you showed me up 'til now, John But since that picture, I don't think my love will be the same
John, I love you But you went too Far This time
John, I love you Alone on a hill The man with the foolish grin Is you

Wikipedia: Lennon commented that the uproar seemed to have less to do with the explicit nudity, and more to do with the fact that the pair were rather unattractive (and the photo unflattering; Lennon described it later as a picture of "two slightly overweight ex-junkies").
Sissy spacek.. What a great actress you are babe, fan of you since violets are blue 1986, one of your greatest movies, to me it's your best one!!! Love you!!!kisses, joe from brazil!!!
I like how the verses are in straight 4/4 time while the chorus is a waltz. Essentially the opposite of "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds." The passing musical reference to "Those Were The Days" at 2:14 sounds out of place. Lennon really didn't have anything at all to do with that.
Then why does she say "But since that picture, I don't think my love will be the same"? No, she was protesting the nude cover of "Two Virgins". The "Bigger than Jesus" remark had happened way back in 1966. This song came out in 1969.
