The Jehovah's Witnesses teach that Jesus is the fallen star in verse 1, and that he's the king of the abyss who opens it. They also call him the Abad'don (the destroyer) in verse 11. They believe that the Jehovah's Witnesses themselves are the locusts who are stinging Christendom! What are your thoughts on this?

hello...i was one of Jehovah's Witnesses for 13 years. while they teach some truthful things they also believe things that are not true, including their explanation of Revelation 9

how much more the Truth Movement has advanced in that time, since Abaddon used the "key" to let us out...the internet.

don't you think it is ironic that Abaddon is mentioned in Revelation at 9:11

@RarendtheBlack you aren't the first to claim that, but as another pointed out, how do the pilots of the choppers know the difference between those that serve god, and those that don't, and why would american & british soliders be the ones to carry this out. It makes sence in many respects, and in many respects it doesn't

@gimik2 good point, the whole locusts=helicopters thing holds merit for me, except for verse 9:4. some say it's God's people bringing the word. Others say it's helicopters attacking saddam after he set 1000 oil wells on fire(oil is a big deal to christians, annointing wise it is symbolic)john says they are 'like' locusts, meaning they aren't locusts, but if he was talklin of choppers,he would compare them to something he knew from his time. locusts were known. Do locusts have metal breastplates?

@WhereIsTruth the locust are real in the sense that they are physical locusts, not helicopters, or whatever. At the same time, they are supernatural locusts, out of the bottomless pit (hell). These are not the ordinary grass-eating insects. If they were helicopters, how do you explain verse 9:4? These are supposed to torment only the unbelievers. Are the pilots flying these "locusts" (aka helicopters) expected to know the difference between believers and unbelievers?
