@ajahni your comments about Prince are spot-on! he is a truly gifted artist (one i've been lucky enough to catch live a few times) but i can't agree with naming Vai or Satriani with him in the same breath. all they do is play rock - really fast! wow! The guitar comping and improvisation that prince does on this cut is marvelous. True musicianship. He is truly one with his instrument. As for Satriani and Vai, they are great at their style of music. But Prince covers all styles and does it ingeniously. He can cover James Brown, the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Latin Jazz and Santana and Led Zeppelin all in one show and arrange all these different songs in a new and refreshing way. That's GENIUS!!! Oh yeah then come back to this own unique style.
