This is a performance of a piece called "IV. Not Heat Flames Up And Consumes" which is a setting to a Walt Whitman poem of the same name and part of a recently commissioned compilation of Walt Whitman poems, called "We Two," written and arranged by Steven Sametz. The Cornell Glee Club spent the two weeks prior to this concert traveling by bus and singing in the South, visiting Cleveland, Nashville, Memphis, Dallas, Austin, Houston, New Orleans and Atlanta after starting and ending in Ithaca, NY. The performance took place in Sage Chapel on the Cornell University Campus, and the conductor is Assistant Conductor John Rowehl.
nicely done, one of my favourites, but the tempo was a little rushed which is unfortunate as some of the best phrases were just run right throught
