Lanford Wilson Memorial, Lyceum Theatre, New York City May 17, 2011 - The people who have been part of of Lanford's life gathered to remember him. A host of stars, and playwrights, and artisttic directors came from all over the USA to remember a man who had been so important to their lives. The cast of Raindogs sang "Precious Moments of Our Lives" to begin the show, hosted by his dearest friend and long-time collaborator/director Marshall Mason. This is Bobby Cannavale's wonderful and funny personal story.
I love this so much. I wish I could have been there and I am glad Marshall hosted . . . LW is gone too soon for me and I know its selfish to say but there's one less person on my side now. Thousands of miles away and I feel the loss but remian inspired. I appreciate Cannavales' annecdotes so much-- LW had the exceptional quality of being able to impart gruffness softly and softness gruffly, if that makes any sense-- because there was so much man behind that voice
