@katey1dog Anyone who does not believe church and state should be separate cannot be trusted to hold high office. Theology cannot be separate from church, and if church is not separate from state, then theology is not separate from state. Hence: theocracy. Iran is a republic, but it is an Islamic republic and therefore a theocracy. This is not, was not, never was meant to be, and hopefully never will be a Christian republic, no matter what Ron and Rand Paul think.

@barrypopins - No, it won't be overturned. The Appeals Ct is a Conservative Republican Ct THAT has a history of taking an extremely hard-nosed stance agst hearing appeals from convicted felons - they'd laugh at you or I taking an appeal & i'm sure they will at DeLay, too.

Oh, wait a minute, I did say a Republican Ct & they do run for office in Texas & they depend on the kind of contributions DeLay can deliver -- OH MY GOD!

I am not defending Delay I am stating that he was tried in one of the most democratic counties in Texas by a prosecuting attorney that had it in for him for some time. Juries can be tainted as we've seen in the OJ trial, but I won't go there. When this case goes to appeals I am saying it will be overturned. I guess we will see...won't we? That's all I have to say about that.
