  • What is the name of second weapon from right? It's blade looks like moon? Is such weapon in other styles like hung gar?

  • It's a Monk's spade not sure if Hung Kune has it or not?

  • Oh, before I forget...does anyone know if any vids of Sifu Derek Johnson are up? Dude is awesome!

  • He has some up on his website of his students, but i don't know of any of himself, sorry.

  • Who is this in the video?

And teh form is slightly different from how I learned it <.<

  • His name is Ron Wheeler

  • Jow Gar actually does not refer to southern mantis at all. It's a style that was originally referred to as Hung Tao Choy Mei (Head of Hung and Tail of Choy) because it was created with the arm techniques of Hung Gar and the footwork of Northern Shaolin and Choy Gar (not to be confused with Choy Lee Fut). As to the specifics of the form itself, I cannot say as I am primarily a Hung Gar person myself so I'm not intimately familiar with this style.

  • I was a student of Sifu Dean Chin back in 1975 in Washington DC. The Small Tiger I learned was slightly different from the one I see here. But the gentleman is good.

  • EDDIE MURPHY !!!

  • Ahh... this brings back memories. My kids studied under Sifu Mims and Sr. Troy Williams for several years and I find the Jow Ga style just as impressive now as I did then.

    Wheeler's form is awesome.

  • Looks like Dean Chin's Siu Fok Fu. Very very good. :)

  • everything is kung fu

    its in everything we do

  • @TPonds Did you know Randy Benett back then?

  • Nice job! Although I'm a CLF person myself, I recignize awesome KF when I see it! Love the blending of Hung Kuen and Choy Ga, and the three salutes.....awesome! Keep up the good work!

  • very true lol sife lee is the co founder . i was a student of master lees here in va. and truthfully there is a certain personal prefrence to this form that you see and its extermely comon placed in the jow ga school here to see diffrent flavors as you put it. for instance some ppl were actually debating saying lok kuen or lok choy which is the exact same move its just diffrent ways of saying it.

  • @jeremy007jones Is that really Eddie Murphy? LOL
