I love archeology! It always backs up the claims in the bible. I remember when the scholars and historians laughed at the idea of a civilizations called the Hittites. Of course they did, they try and disprove the bible every chance they get but the bible holds its own friends. Evidence always supports its claims. Archeology always supports its claims. Love archeology, love the truth for it never changes and is able to stand up to any investigation thrown at it. Peace and god bless

No matter what ´race ´ the Hitites were , it´s been proven beyond any doubt that the language they spoke was of Indoeuropean origin .

This entire premise is too far out. Yes, the royal family split, but no, they didn't just walk out of their city and burn it down. They had competitors. Those competitors took advantage of the distress. Canaanites to the south (a fledgling nation) and vicious Babylonians to the east.

HItites were Eurasians, the Anatolians. Still middle-eastern, still culturally similar to their neighbors, but have vast differences as well. As great as their empire was, the failed miserably in the east, and was short lived and over-run.
