IMPORTANT NOTICE !! I rec'd this video from a source, who assured me that Buddy was happy to be filmed.I guess this must be so, as the drummer who filmed it was very close to the Band. !!However, if any member of Buddy's family is not happy with this posting. Then I would take it down. After I had chercked out, that any such request ,emanated from a genuine source. This is my strict rule. From the private collection of Colin Kellam. I have the complete session which is 106 mins.Check out Buddy info: @ :.www.allthatjazz-ondvd.co.uk Please use my "Contact Me " Page.

  • So relaxed, so effortless. Not pretending to be something or someone he wasn't. He embodied every note of every tune he ever played. Ultimate mastery. Ultimate master.

  • Does anybody care about all this nonsense. The greatest drummer of all time died. Thankfully his music lives on.

  • Buddy, in his last year or three made a final step in his evolution. The musical shading in his ensemble playing is far more subtle and unpredictable. No wasted motion, and (if it's possible) and even more unrelenting sense of the continuum of time. I'll see you on your website and thanks for the post from a fellow Buddy-ite.

  • great video/document! he was amazing, and he does not read a note

  • Damn, I miss the Budster so much. I have a few tribute clips to him on here. The new generation of musicians needs to see more of this. I used to go to those concerts back in the 80s at Disneyland. Unforgettable.

  • the trombone is SICK!

  • one the best

  • Man, I really liked the entrance of that trombone solo. Buddy looked happy with him too.

  • He was diagnosed in New York at Mount Sinai Hospital and promptly checked himself out and left for California and was operated on there. I think he went into Sinai around Jan or February.

  • Awesome! Man he was old there!

  • Bone soloist is Tom Garling. He and Bill both live in Chicago, but there are a few years difference in age.
