Just a simple test that ended up as a little . . . . thing. ;-) The look of the video after processing reminded me of occasional nights of insomnia, especially during an illness, where after staring at the dimly lit walls for hours it sometimes became difficult to know if I was awake or asleep, hence the title.

  • John, this track is just lovely. I've seen your comments on so many videos, but I guess I never thought to click on you to see if you had videos of your own. I love what I've heard so far.

  • Thanks for the nice compliment, blwvideo! I'm glad you liked it.

  • whaa this is sooo weird!

This magnificent piece reminds me of a part of an acidtechno song released this year (and I ordered it just before I saw your clip!)

Guess Einstein was right in saying that there is no coincidence :P

    check @ myspace:

/stereokenetic - first song, somewhere towards the end...

  • WOW, funny coincidence! ;-) It's probably because that melody/sequence is a stock patch on the Yamaha RM1X I have and Stereokenetic probably have a RM1X too! Thanks for pointing it out!

  • Another fine demo, some lovely atmospheric sounds there.

  • Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! :-)

  • LOL!

I have the rm1x as well, but unfortunately I haven't touched it since I made a pattern or two with it. Now I have ableton to do my sequencing and I'm thinking of selling it (but I can't because I've written some kickass pattern or two on it :P)

It has a damn nice MIDI delay though :)

  • Wadaya mean? A flashpot can NEVER have too much powder! ;-)

Thanks for the compliments and suggestion for an album title, I like it!

  • NOW I know what you've been up to all these years...you've come a long way from overloading the flash pots with powder my friend...

Seriously, very cool atmospheric sounds, you should be close to cutting a demo EP, eh? You've got the title now.
