Lightning Storm in Hong Kong

I took this video someday in July 2005 when I noticed the crazy weather outside my apartment. Soon I edited it into this video and added some music in it. According to the TV news, there were almost 10,000 lightning strikes within 2 hours that night. Crazy.

Right. Really too close. I think one of the lightning has striked the building I was living in, as the light went off for a second. Luckily there is some lightning insulation measures installed in the building. Thanks for your comment. Hope you enjoy this video.

Hong Kong is basically full of tall buildings. I was living in 22/F in a 30 storey building at that time. In front of it there is no other tall building so everyone got a nice view. But it was like the end of the world that night. Thanks for your comment. Hope you enjoy this video.

You are right. In fact, I can't see the real lightning at that time, just a flash of strong and intense light, not until when I saw the video again did I know that it was a strike so closed to me. Anyway, thanks for your comment. Hope you enjoy this video.

Hi! I'm looking for footage of the storm I was caught in, Hong Kong, Lantau Island -- I can't remember if it was 2005 or 2006 :\ Summer, July and a sudden intense hurricane warning with EXTREME lightning all over the islands -- I was ON TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN AT DUSK when it began, and got stuck up there in the pouring rain, watching all the islands in the ocean being pounded with massive bolts of lightning, which were also pounding and blasting down all around and beside me! I ran down finally

ive been to hongkong a few times because my dad worked in manila so i was born and raised there. but hongkongs face has changed a lot since the last time i visited. im trying to take a trip back this summer, i i really love south-east asia. even though im german i consider it to be my home :)
