  • Under braking, gases can be emitted by the pads, and the rotation of the disc attempts to force air between the pad and the disc surface, attempting to part the pad from the disc. The purpose of the drilled holes is to allow these gases to escape. They are not there primarily to dissipate heat. If you're going to post 'expert' videos, at least get your facts right first.

  • @Astonishist ..... I'm not trying to create an argument, but isn't the heat that creates the gasses... so therefore combating the heat effectively defeats the gasses. Either way, it's kinda of like arguing whether or not the chicken or the egg came first. Allowing air to circulate, combats both the heat and the gasses...?
