In September of 1992, the Santa Fe Railroad used the3751 to pull and beautiful consist of SF equipment from Los Angeles to Chicago and return, providing one way trips for employees. This sequence was shot as the train was passing westbound through Joliet, Illinois. See more at www.railroad-crossing.com.

  • I think 3751 should ALWAYS have warbonnets as helpers instead of just plain old Amtrak locos if you ask me.

  • @TommyBNSF actually the Santa Fe did not own 3751 when the trip to Chicago was run. the railroad has not owned it since the 1950's. the railroad donated it to the city of San Bernardino, California when it was retired in 1957. in 1985 the city sold it to the San Berardino Railroad Historical Society. the SBRHS has owned the 3751 ever since then.
