I spent a year in Blackpool as a French assistant. I'm from Canada, from a beautiful and busy capital. I thought, as you said, that Blackpool was a total shit-hole (I loved it for 2 weeks and then came to my senses). I don't know how many pub fights or stabbings on the street I witnessed... But I still miss Blackpool, no matter how much a shit-hole it was haha.

And I love the ad! The actors have the most terrible accent. No native French speakers will be fooled but who cares!

Good ol' lancashire lad!

Although I have to say, having lived near blackpool all my life and having been there hundreds of times, it's not some magical place haha. It's actually a bit of a shit tip. And the people can leave a lot to be desired (though there are always exceptions!)
