The Other Side Of The Conversation

"The Other Side Of The Conversation" is a massive 4 way collaboration between MWP and KALANIAH (who wrote the music), BOOGER & THE GUMDROPS (who provided the psychedelic Guitar twangs) and DESTINATIONDAWN (who wrote the lyric and performs the vocal).
We were interested in creating a song about the lack of privacy and intimacy in our current lives, about the nature of the eavesdrop...about the lack of human connection although we are surrounded by voices, sounds, busy noise that implies we are somehow connected to other human beings.
DestinationDawn's lyric so perfectly encapsulates this idea, and we tried to produce a soundscape around her that painted those words..we tried to highlight a favourite genre of MWP, the "nu-clatter-funk"..the over-compressed, thick-as-mud mixes we used to create when we first started making music together. So "The Other Side Of The Conversation" is busy, clattery, chunky and dense.
