Recorded by Carlton Stout, these video images of artwork by Marlene Honma record life in the country on Hawaii's Big Island .
The artist, from Kamuela depicts the beauty and simplicity of farm life. Marlene and her husband are both full-time farmers who grow seasonal vegetables.
"Rising at dawn, working in the fields by day, resting after dark, following the rhythm of this humble, yet wonderous life, we ask for nothing, but receive multiple times multiple gifts so pure, so simple and satisfying, surpassing all our expectations. We work and relish in the most mundane tasks adn events, acknowledging the impermanence of things. Walking with the natural world, setting aside all other expectations, we derive the essence of our purpose. Delighting in the ordinary--this exhibit strives to chronicle our farm life, hopefully, with the least bit of fraudelence possible." --M. Honma
