It seems like Claude Akins always played the heavy. I heard that he was a really nice man in real life though.

@94jbmx I think he only spins it when it out of ammo. He always seems to do it when he's done shooting stuff.
On a side note, that spin is so badass. I don't think I've ever seen a rifle being manhandled as if it was a pistol. At least not in such an effective and badass way.

I was watching early Gunsmoke episodes last night and told my wife an undertaker would certainly have a lot of work in Dodge. but holy smoke - he'd clean up in North Fork!
A great show, truly. My mini 14 shoots like a dream but i'm darned if it looks as cool as Lucas' winchester!

Imagine what The Rifleman could do with a Colt M16A with a 30 or 40 round clip/ magazine filled with .223 cal bullets. 1000 rounds per minute sure increases his rate of fire!!!!!

The scene where he's shooting the mexican's in the bar (at :45)should've been re-shot. He was all over the place except at the target...

I have to agree, I'm old enough to have seen the episode when it first aired, and even as a six year old kid I could see how bad that scene was.

Anybody know where the Sam Peckinpah version of the Rifleman is that was out a few years ago? I've been looking all over for it. Thanks for your help.

My old account DHart007 had the Sam Peckinpah version and which was closed by Youtube for copyright violations. I had the video on another site which got a copyright infringement strike there. I assume it was the Wild Bunch footage intermixed with the Rifleman footage that was the problem.
