Though very well and charmingly done, it did drag a bit. I understand that the intention was to build up tension and awkwardness, but it still needs to be snappier.

This is a particularly difficult scene in this piece because many actors don't see the humor upon reading it. The rest of the show is filled with very zany characters doing outrageous things and it is easy to be silly and funny. There is a very different humor in this scene, based around the awkwardness of young love, nerves, and being overwhelmed by the person you're with, and many actors (particularly younger, less-experienced ones) have a hard time finding it.
