There were many fast cars at this topgunrun.com runway race, but John Bohmer's Ford GT was the fastest. New world record for the standing mile: 252.97MPH.

@ace587 I'm not positive but it's probably the one runway that was completed out in the Everglades west of Miami at the site of what was to be the world's largest airport. It's construction was halted due to environmental reasons in the late '60's, early '70's. It's now called the Dade Collier Training and Transition Airport and you can see it on Google Earth.

@redhot916spd if youre interested ray hoffmans ford gt ran 267mph in the standing mile(271 mph in testing) and are expecting 275mph or more at the texas mile in october. the supra had a nice run of it-but its done holding any standing mile records.

I have never been a fan of Ford or muscle cars and will never will be. But this FordGt is bringing back the super car victory to America as the GT40 did in LeMans many years ago.

Now the Ford GT is doing the job, I have seen many videos of tuned GTs that have unbeliveable top spees and standing mile 252.97, ?????? Wooaaaaa stock production super cars might need one more decade to acomplish that. :D/
