@chgw01 When people get wrapped up in "idol worship", they forget that these entertainers are just people like everyone else, with all the human flaws that the rest of us have. Jerry was tremendously ambitious with a giant ego. Dean on the other hand was a bit lazy with an indifferent attitude (basically, the character you saw on screen was Dean, sans the booze) which was as important to his success as his voice.

For years in my youth I was a confused soul. My mother's cousin was named Jerry Lewis. For some reason I have a weird kindred to JL. But mine died of pancreatic cancer this year. Bummmer
