This was a 8km flight I did on an overcast day. Total flight time as about 22 minutes for a total of 16.8km. Total battery power consumed was 2900mAh. The full spec is listed in the video.
@Slayer10000000000 Search for "More FPV: Chainlink UHF has arrived" you use the trainer port same as Dx8. You will get a couple of Km with standard rubber antenna. Much more with a directional patch antenna (maybe 8km). You can tune the antenna's to get better range though, or buy better directional patch antenna's to give more range.
@sieze2 I don't think would be able to mod my tx to have a UHF... So what's my best bet receiver wise? I would really like to be able to get a mile out of my dx6i some how.
Ok, thanks! How would you go about hooking up a UHF to a dx6i? And one more question, how far will 800mw get you one 900mhz for video? If my video would not go past 1.2 km, i don't see the point in bothering with a UHF
@Slayer10000000000 My Dx8 with AR7000 and 1.2ghz vx transmitter only gave 500 meters range before locking out.Search for "Loss of signal - battle to keep it flying". We did get 1.2 km with an AR9000 but don't bother, just get a UHF system....trust me.
A Carrying onboard about 6000Mah total is ok, but if you add a gopro as well the plane does struggle. I am now flying a zephyr so the HK plane has been retired.
@sieze2 I would like to set up my epp fpv exactly the way yours is. I have been in the hobby for quite some time, and i'm into 3D and edfs, but I wan't to get in to fpv. Would a dx6i provide range for about a mile? How does the plane handle the weight of the 5000 and the 1300? I was thinking of doing a 4000 and a 1000, but would that give me enough flight time? Thanks, and a video showing how to set up your equipment would be awesome! :)
@Slayer10000000000 Its only soldering 3 wires together. Give it a try, its the easiest soldering to do.

@sieze2 I know, I saw that video. I'm not verry handy with a soldering iron so that's why I didn't think I could do it.

lol shhh ! It has to be done one day! It burns about 1.5 litres of fuel in 5 minutes though (the way I fly it anyway!)
