About REALTOR® Confidential:
CRT, in conjunction with the Information Central and Public Affairs divisions, has created an online video series to educate our membership about technology-related topics. REALTOR® Confidential is also a project to investigate how to best use Web technologies to communicate. Following the CRT mission, we will share this knowledge with members and the real estate community. In the first season, we follow 2007 NAR President Pat V. Combs as she and her staff implement new technologies. The audience finds out what works for Pat and her staff, what doesn't, and why.

  • The typewriter was added for comic effect. I understand they do use it occasionally for municipal forms, etc.

This is a before episode where we introduce the office and show some fairly common technology before our subject broker and her staff start playing with some new stuff.

  • This episode shows what Pat is using in her office currently. Following episodes will highlight the new tech she and her staff with integrate into their business practices.

    Thanks for the feedback

  • What's Pat doing now? Working fast food?

  • This is a wonderful attempt of 50 year old + baby boomer agents trying to stay "hip" and "with it" to us young kid agents.

While it's easy though for us to mock people like Pat, the younger generation refuses to step into the spotlight and show what REAL technology is, it's a shame, we could have actually seen some technology that is within at least a few years old!

  • My very thoughts, that typewriter I haven't seen one of those in years. Someone tell her to Go internet, get ZipForms and throw the typewriter away.

  • Episode 1 focused on 80's technology. How about Sam's ideas - Acrobat Full Version (digital originals uploaded to server sites), PDFs from web sites with live links, Server Sites (instantaneous faster than overnight), Entourage Rules for filtering valuable inquiries from spam, Fax & Phone servers to digitize all faxes and phone calls, then programmed to email immediately to your iPhone, blogging, Intel Macs running elegant software, plus Windows XP for those few times you need it...

  • A bit low tech in my opinion...a copier, fax and a typewriter. I am wondering where's the Fujitsu duplex scanner is or the tablet computer, or video conferencing, it has already been mentioned but either Zip Forms or Omni Page can instantly replace the typewriter along with Adobe Acrobat and an assortment of other programs.

  • Wow a typewriter, fax machine & copier, seriously? You call that technology?? Come on NAR you can do better.
