ASUS G2S GAMING Laptop w/ WUXGA screen (Hackingtosh) running OS X SL 10.6.4 retail super stable... all pimped out & fast! Very easy to install Retail Snow Leopard on these laptops & on any Intel dual processor based computer... Showing the iCandy of Snow Leopard Black Edition on better hardware than Apple's own. This show's a non-boring desktop interface unlike many others that have it plain, simple & whack & don't take advantage of what OS X can do & looks! Enjoy...

NOTE: Update - May 17, 2011... WiFi has work ever after this video when I swaped the Intel's WiFi with a SL navite Broadcome dual channel WiFi card a few months ago. Now I swaped it again with a more powerful super Atheros XPAN WiFi-N 300M pci-e card that is incredible... Snow Leopard recognizes Atheros XPAN card natively as Airport Extreme at full 300M speeds!

*** Update Aug. 2011 - Runs fine on OS X Lion 10.7.1, Trackpad works with 2 finger scroll, double tap, etc...

Video on how I did this easily with Dual booting Windows 7 coming soon!

  • Cool! LALOMAN18, How did you install the update?

I got OSX running with iAtkos S3 v.2 with OSX 10.6.3 - TPB has it.

However when trying to install the 10.6.8 update I can't bookt anymore. Clone partition with Clonezilla before doing any os changes - much easier to restore it that way than reinstalling everything. Tripple booting with Win7 and Fedora 15. Need new replacement wifi card.

  • @lukasl2000 Its really easy.... throw away your Distro's, they are useless and buggy.... right now I'm running vanilla version of Lion... Clean installed it, Don't like it much as Snow Leopard as its very stable at 10.6.8... Use iBoot v3.1.0 disc to boatload Snow L. it will install it fresh. Once installed reboot with iBoot again & select the OS X partition where u just installed SL, boot from there. On the desktop run Multibeast v3.72 its very stable. just run Easybeast + apple trackpad next.

  • If you have SL via Distro already install and want Lion, theres very good videos on how to create an 8GB partition to move the Lion setup files with xMove app. This is cool cause no matter if Lion screws up you can easily reinstall a clean fresh copy again. Just a note, Lion boot files corrupt easily when using the SL kexts app utilities like "Kext Utility v2.42"... Kext Wizard is amazing app for Lion and does all that and more. Since Lion is at 10.7 it buggy and not ready yet.

  • the WiFi to replace is the Atheros AR5008X Wi-Fi N with XSPAN technology 300M (has 3 antennas) and its native to OS X. Copy this and paste it into ebay and you will have the Apple version of the card:

    "Apple Atheros AR5008 AR5BXB72 Mini Pci-e 802.11n 300M" without quotes...

its $14 total and worth it...

The other one thats native and works fine is the Broadcom BCM94321MC dual channel but only has 2 antenna wires (White and Black wire only, Grey stays neutral)
